John commenced working in the industry in 1980. In 1986 he co-founded Mott Finnis & Co with Jon Mott. His experience gained over the last 35 years allows him to provide real, workable and practical solutions for his business clients.

John can provide hands on guidance in business start ups, restructures, refinancing and estate and succession planning.

Trent began at Mott Finnis & Co in 2005 after completing his study and working for a mid tier Adelaide firm for 5 years. In 2010, Trent became a Partner in Mott Finnis & Co.

Trent works with clients in a wide variety of fields including farmers, retailers, tradespeople, manufacturing and the transport industry. He also has keen interest in superannuation and self managed superannuation funds.

Trent is also a qualified SMSF Registered Auditor. Trent’s areas of interest include taxation, tax and succession planning, retirement strategies, business evaluation & analysis, cashflow/budget management and analysis.


Adrienne Cross

Adrienne came to Mott Finnis & Co in 2005 after spending time as a winemaker in the Limestone Coast.  In 2010, Adrienne was invited to become a Partner in Mott Finnis & Co.

Adrienne works predominantly with clients in compliance work across many business types, but in particular works with clients who are involved in grape growing and wine making.  Adrienne also has a special interest in assisting clients with their bookkeeping solutions.


Kellie Bald

Kellie has been with Mott Finnis since the start of her accounting career in 1994. She has widespread experience across all of our accounting services including business advice, tax and compliance services for various types of business structures, including Self Managed Superannuation Funds. Kellie completed a Diploma of Financial Planning and RG146 accreditation with CPA Australia in 2016.

Michael, a partner at Mott Finnis & Co, joined the firm in 2005. Since then Michael has completed a Bachelor of Commerce and the CPA Program.
Michael provides services to clients’ in a broad range of industries including primary production, construction, transport, retail and hospitality. Michael maintains a strong understanding of business and taxation, providing advice on tax planning, business structures, asset protection and business performance.
Michael is also an Authorised Representative of Edwards Marshall Advisory Pty Ltd which enables him to provide advice on financial products and Self Managed Super Funds including matters such as listed shares, managed funds, SMSF establishment, contribution strategies, retirement strategies and Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements.

Julie Kenny

Assistant Accountant







Julie has been with the firm for longer than any other current employee. As such, Julie is a very-well respected member of the team, with an extensive knowledge of the services provided at Mott Finnis & Co. Julie provides support to the partners and is conversant with ASIC requirements, Business Name Registrations, ABN, TFN, GST and other associated business registrations. In addition, Julie attends to payroll related activities.


Melissa Polniak

Assistant Accountant

Melissa started at Mott Finnis & Co in 2006, after gaining experience in the banking sector. The Assistant Accountant’s role provides support to the partners, particularly regarding tax and BAS preparation. In addition, Melissa manages our Banklink program, assists clients with various registrations including Business Name Registrations, ABN, TFN and GST, and is conversant with ASIC requirements.


Emma Moritz

Emma commenced working at Mott Finnis in 2012, after gaining experience working with Self Managed Super Funds. While her focus area is Self Managed Super Funds, she also assists clients with bookkeeping.

Faith Paech

Faith began at Mott Finnis & Co in 2017. Following the completion of her Bachelor of Business (Property), she provides support to the partners through her position as an Assistant Accountant.

Rhys Woodbridge

Originally hailing from Mount Gambier, Rhys moved to Adelaide to undertake a double degree in Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) at the University of Adelaide which he graduated from in 2018.  After returning to the South East, Rhys started with Mott Finnis in July 2019 as an assistant accountant, providing  support to the partners in this role.

Jessie Haynes

Assistant Accountant







Jessie began at the firm in 2019, after gaining experience in the financial sector as well as book keeping and administration through her family’s business. As an Assistant Accountant, she provides ongoing support to the partners, particularly regarding tax and BAS preparation. In addition to this Jessie is also responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the monthly coding reports for most BAS clients. She is hoping to further her knowledge, understanding and education within the Accounting industry via off campus study in the near future.



Leanne McCarthy

Accounts Administrator







Leanne began at Mott Finnis & Co in 2005. Leanne looks after ASIC requirements, other various business registrations and Mott Finnis’ own receivable and payable accounts.

Liana Kent

Office Clerk







Liana’s role in the office is to ensure the smooth running of the Mott Finnis & Co business. Liana manages our accounts receivable, while also providing support to the partners and other members of the admin team. She also manages the firm’s Trust Account and Audit Insurance Program.


Emma Fitzgerald








As our receptionist, Emma is your first point of contact if you call or visit the office. Her role in the office is to provide support to staff members where necessary and to carry out the essential day to day duties of our busy practice. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Commerce.


Vicki Davies

Records Clerk







Vicki joined the firm at the start of 2016 and helps out with the office administration duties and filing.
